This tattoo features the Chinese character “霖” (Lim), which was the character used in the client’s mother’s name.
A few months after losing her mother, the client chose this tattoo as a way to keep her close and carry her memory with her. She also wanted to incorporate the character in a meaningful way, as it symbolized the element she felt was lacking in her saju (Korean Four Pillars of Destiny).
The character “霖” means a long-lasting, nourishing rain. As rain helps trees grow and thrive, the meaning felt especially significant and personal.
Although it is just a single character, this tattoo carries love, remembrance, and hopes for the future.
